Causes and Solutions for Jamming of the Feed Rollers in Wood Chip Machines

Using a wood chipper makes it easy to slice wood into chips. However, during operation, some machines may experience the feed rollers becoming jammed. To address this issue, we’ve provided the following series of recommended solutions. Never use metal objects to poke at the jammed material, as this could cause serious accidents if the objects fall into the wood chipper. If raw material gets stuck between the upper roller and the deflector plate in the second pair of rollers of the wood chipper’s feeding mechanism, you should only use a wooden stick to gently push the material downward.
Using a wood chipper can easily slice lumber. However, during operation, some machines may experience the issue of the feed rollers becoming jammed. To address this, we’ve provided you with the following series of recommended solutions.
1. Do not use metal objects to poke into the machine, as this could cause wood chips to fall inside and lead to a serious accident.
2. The raw material is stuck between the upper roller of the second pair of rollers and the deflector plate in the wood chipper’s feeding mechanism; you can only push it down using a wooden stick.
3. Ensure that the raw material is fed along its length direction, and prevent lateral feeding.
4. Control the feed rate appropriately and strictly prohibit large bundles of raw materials from being directly fed into the wood chipper.
5. Under normal circumstances, as long as the thickness of the wood fed into the wood chipper is kept below 12 cm, this failure can be effectively avoided.
The jamming of the material rollers in wood chipper machines is generally caused by excessive forced feeding, lateral feeding, and feeding wood that is too thick. Adopting the solutions outlined above can maximize the assurance of normal operation and help prevent malfunctions from disrupting your regular use.
