Precautions for Operating the Wood Chipper

During the initial trial run of the wood chipper, it is recommended to first select several pieces of relatively straight raw materials, each about 2 to 4 meters long and within the machine’s processing range, for testing purposes, depending on whether the machine is small, medium, or large. As much as possible, avoid using special hardwoods as well as raw materials that are excessively large in diameter or overly curved.

It is advisable to avoid using specially hard and mixed woods as well as raw materials that are excessively large in diameter or overly curved. The precautions are outlined below:
1. The equipment must be placed smoothly, and the installation direction should be determined based on the actual conditions of the site and the raw materials. Regardless of the size of the equipment, the foundation for the main unit, as well as the base foundations for the feeding and discharging conveyor systems, must first be constructed according to the foundation drawings provided by the manufacturer. Subsequently, professional technicians dispatched by the manufacturer will provide guidance during the installation process.
2. Before use, first check the electrical and hydraulic circuits according to the “Instruction Manual” to ensure that all connections are safe. Generally, the tension of each chain, V-belt, and transmission mechanism has already been adjusted at the factory or adjusted on-site by the manufacturer’s installation personnel. Users should regularly inspect these components during subsequent operation.
3. The blades are made of alloy steel. If, after prolonged use, they become worn or their angle changes, you can loosen the blade’s securing screws, remove the blade for sharpening and adjustment, and replace it with a new blade of the same specification if wear exceeds acceptable limits.
4. When connecting to the power supply, connect a 380V three-phase power source via the switchgear or switch cabinet. First, check whether there are any debris or branches around the equipment that might interfere with its operation and handling. After powering on, confirm the rotation direction of the feeding rollers and run the equipment idly for about 5 minutes. Pay close attention to listening for and observing whether the equipment exhibits any abnormalities.
