The structure of the straw shredder consists of a frame, a rotary cutting section, a feeding system, and an overload protection device. The machine body is made of steel plates, ensuring durability and robustness. What exactly is the structure of the straw shredder? Let’s take a closer look below.
The straw shredder features high efficiency, a compact design, an aesthetically pleasing appearance with smooth lines, convenient and quick replacement of wear parts, enhanced safety, low consumption of wear parts, and low operating costs.
The arrangement of blades in the straw shredder differs from that of domestic and foreign waste shredders. It primarily employs the tensile-breaking theory and the shear-breaking theory, thereby overcoming the common weakness of most domestic and foreign waste shredders—namely, their tendency to become jammed when processing materials with high flexibility and moisture content, such as corn stalks and other types of straw. Thanks to its multi-axis shredding design and the staggered arrangement of crushing chambers at different levels, every single straw undergoes multi-stage crushing with complementary crushing directions. This addresses the shortcoming of conventional two-axis shredders, which cannot handle materials requiring diverse crushing orientations. As a result, this machine can effectively process various straw bales, especially those that have been tightly bundled, and after shredding, virtually no straw particles are left unshredded, ensuring that the particle size meets the required standards. Moreover, the rollers are designed to rotate around each other, preventing materials from getting tangled on the shafts. The corn cob shredder features automatic blade sharpening, automatic debris removal, fire-retardant spray system, reversible rotation, and automatic cooling functions.

What is the structure of a straw shredder? Let’s find out below.
The feed system of the straw shredder operates using a gear-driven external-chain rotary cutting mechanism, which features no dead corners and high efficiency. The rotating cutter rotor blades are sharp and can rotate to cut straws of varying diameters, lengths, and moisture contents. In addition, the straw shredder boasts a long throwing distance—up to 10 meters—which not only ensures the personal safety of operators and prevents injuries but also enhances the utilization rate of straw, thereby reducing livestock farming costs. This machine is suitable for crushing and processing various types of plant materials, including wheat straw, peanut vines, sweet potato vines, cotton stalks, corn stover, and forage grasses.
What are the precautions for using a straw shredder? Let’s find out below.
1. Before starting the machine, check whether there are any foreign objects inside the grinding chamber. If there are, remove them and make sure the grinding chamber is empty before turning on the power.
2. Tighten the butterfly nuts on the top cover and the crushing chamber.
3. Start the motor and let it run empty for 1–2 minutes. Then gradually feed the material into the machine from the feeding hopper, taking care not to feed too quickly or in excessive quantities.
4. If the material gets stuck and the motor stops rotating, immediately turn it off to prevent the motor from burning out. After removing the jammed material, resume operation.
5. During operation, it is strictly prohibited to open the top cover or reach into the crushing chamber with your hands.
6. This machine is a dry-type pulverizer and is not suitable for grinding damp or oily materials.
7. Pay attention to screen mesh replacement; different screen meshes should be used depending on the requirements.
8. Machinery and equipment must be equipped with thermal overload protectors to prevent motor damage caused by excessive operating load pressure.
9. Overload automatic shutdown protection—if you wish to continue operating, please press the protector again.
