The straw shredder boasts advantages such as a reasonable structure, high efficiency, compact design, attractive appearance, smooth lines, convenient and quick replacement of wear parts, safety, low consumption of wear parts, and low operating costs. So, what is the composition and structure of the straw shredder? Let’s take a closer look below.

The straw shredder features a machine housing mounted on the upper part of a trailer. A water tank is installed atop the machine housing. A guide roller is mounted on the support structure of the material-guiding mechanism, and the feeding hopper is connected to the guide roller. On the inner side of the guide roller, there’s a chopping bottom blade assembly along with its blade holder. Above the gearbox assembly, a kneading assembly is mounted and connected to the guide roller via a chain. The guide roller, in turn, is linked to a drive belt pulley. The drive belt pulley is connected via a conveyor belt to a tension pulley. The pusher is fitted onto the transmission shaft of the gearbox assembly, while the blade holder pulley is mounted on the main shaft of the blade holder assembly. The water tank is connected to a lower water trough, which communicates with the upper part of the pusher. At the discharge end of the pusher, there’s a discharge nozzle. The gearbox assembly is connected to a motor. This utility model boasts a novel and unique design, integrating chopping, kneading, and bagging into one compact unit. It features low costs, high production efficiency, and promotes the development of the crushing industry. Its potential for widespread application is highly promising.

To ensure both production output and the safety of operators, it’s important to pay attention to certain precautions before, during, and after starting the straw shredder. What are the precautions for using a straw crusher? Let’s find out below.

1. The motor used in the straw shredder must have a reliable ground connection to avoid unnecessary accidents.

2. The straw shredder should be started under no-load conditions, then run idly for 2 to 3 minutes. Only after confirming that the machine is operating normally without any abnormalities should material be fed into it. When feeding, try to feed the material evenly and ensure that the motor operates at its rated load. Monitor the bearing temperature closely at all times—make sure it does not become excessively high. If overheating is detected, immediately stop the machine and perform an inspection to prevent damage to the bearings, main shaft, and other components.

3. After feeding is complete, keep the crusher running for another 1 to 2 minutes. For the corn stalk shredder, wait until all the material inside has been completely crushed and discharged before shutting down the machine.

4. When clearing blockages inside the crushing chamber, adjusting or replacing hammers, sieve plates, and belts, be sure to disconnect the power supply and wait until the machine has completely stopped running before proceeding, to ensure safety.

5. Regularly inspect the hammer blades and flat teeth for cracks and signs of wear. If you need to replace the hammer blades or flat teeth, try to use genuine parts from the original manufacturer. Currently, there are many counterfeit and substandard hammer blades and flat teeth on the market; users must be extremely careful when making their purchases to avoid damaging the machine due to the use of low-quality components.

6. The corn stalk shredder should be equipped with a power source (motor or diesel engine) that matches the specified rated power. Moreover, the rotational speed of the matching power source must be carefully selected according to the rated spindle speed of each model of straw crusher; increasing the spindle speed is strictly prohibited. Operating the shredder at speeds exceeding its rated capacity often poses significant risks.

7. In addition, users should note that to avoid dust hazards, the crushing operation area should be spacious and well-ventilated, and equipped with reliable fire-prevention facilities.
